Hi All,
Don't wanna sound like a noob, but is there a correct way or order to dial in the Express? ie what should be dialed in first, bass etc? Is there a specific order the knobs should be dialled in?
Thanks

Some people set all the knobs at noon and just go from there. But I tweak the treble and gain first to get the overall saturation/tone. Then the mids for thickness. Then the bass for depth. The last thing is the contour. I pretty much just go down the line of the tone controls.

I read the manual. Several times.

Also, when I found a sound that I liked, I took a pic of it with my digital camera. After a while the amp became a lot less mysterious.

I didn't do the camera thing. Maybe that's one reason it's taken me a little over a year to get used to exactly what all the knobs do. Or maybe I'm just a slowtard.

The correct way is to turn knobs until it sounds good.
The next day, you may need to turn the knobs some more.
Rinse and repeat.
I believe it was Emerson who said:
"A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds".
(Ralph Waldo, not Keith).
Of course, there's always the last resort, the manual. :D

I have found that I need to be patient before I adjust settings. When a tube amp is initially turned on its components are at room temperature. Tube amps need to be warmed through and through before all the voltages are right. (Temperature affects resistance and therefore voltage.) I try to resist the temptation to start seriously turning knobs until the amp is toasty.

hope this helps

Is the OP talking 5:25 or 5:50 here.
If its 5:50 then it's a very easy amp to dial in imo.
Read the manual then tweak.
Always keep the bass dial under 11 oclock and you cant go wrong

Another fellow Aussie! Yeah its a 5:50

I've had my 5/50 112 for almost a year and just found a MUCH better, punchier clean on the CRUNCH channel. Run a lower GAIN setting (9-10 o'clock) mids around 12 o'clock. Add contour to taste. I'll try to take a pic of the setting when I get home. Anyway these were the BIGGEST factors.
