Hi there,

I'm from Poland. Recently I purchased the Mesa Boogie Two Fifty in USA. As you know the voltage in my country is 230 V. I know that my Mesa requires now a converter (transformer)-change. My question is: could you tell me what converter (transformer) should I use to make it work properly (please give me as exact data as possible).

Big thank in advance

Kind Regards
Mat

Ask mesa they will give you the best exact data ever !

I wrote to Mesa yesterday and I'm still for reply.
Question (to person who were in touch with MB service): could you give me the e-mail I should write on? I'm wondering if I sent the message on correct address...

Thx in advance

Mat

Hi there,

BIG thank to all who try to help me. Unfortunatelly I'm still in the same place. Mesa-Team didn't reply to my messages. Now I'm trying to build a new converter but there is a problem, but from the beginnig:

When I bought my Mesa, a good friend of mine (elektric-man) said that the most simple solution is to re-wind the converter. But in the end the converter has been demaged (by a guy who should have been a professional...). Now I want to bay and build in a new converter but the problem is that it's impossibel to find out what converter should be used (you have to know all these in and out voltages). If I had the old converter then it would be possibel (on basis of the old converter) to choose the right new one. So I'm now in bad situation. I have a favor: could anyone help me out? Has anyone something like Mesa Boogie 2:50 schematics (but of good quality - I found something in the net but it's not writable)? or something that could me go farward.

THANKS a lot in advance

Despered MAT

Hello, I had the same issue as you, I bought my 2:fifty in San Francisco and brought it in Euope with me. I simply gave my mesa to a professional who re-winded the transformer in it for 230v current and I haven't had any problems with it ever since. You surely have some people in Poland who can do that for you, and you wouldn't need an external transformer. It is the easiest way, just do a little research to find the right guy for the job.

You're right, Satchie, I hope to find someone who will cope with it :)
btw. what preamp do you use? how is the sound?

Thx
Regards
Mat

Tube Amp Doctor trannies are very good, I used 2 of them for single recto and Road king but you may need an electronical tech to do the swap because many wires need to be found and colors may vary on the new transformers.

I use Quad preamp and ADA MP-1, but my goal is to get CAE 3+SE at some point. 2:fifty is a very good poweramp, it works well with any preamp except for the modelling stuff. :p Quad sounds great through it, instant oldschool metallica, Lukather or DT tones at your hand.
