Cleaning my Recto 4x12

I was wondering if I could use black shoe polish on the tolex of my mesa 4x12 to get rid of white scuff marks and make it look fresh and new, think it'd work or harm the tolex?

Try some Armor All first, the kind of stuff used to wipe car interiors.

I use the disposable wipes. Great for cleaning the tolex.

+1 on the wipes. I've always used too much when spraying from a bottle. Works great on guitar cases, too.

Armour All wipes FTW! Just use one or two max and keep wiping the last one on long after it feels dry then use a clean shirt and wipe off the excess. It will look good as new and shouldn't be too greasy. Just be careful around the handle area when using a fresh wipe. Wait until the wipe is not so saturated before wiping the handle down. I hate a greasy handle!
