IMHO...

They would not make one.
Since there wouldn't be one, I don't have to wonder if I'd buy it.

It's that simple.

All valid points of discussion, rabies.

I simply have nothing of value to add to the discussion other then my solicited opinion, as my opinion on this is simply based on ‘perceived’ company operations strategy (which I have no in-depth knowledge of).

Perhaps others will be able to fire up the discussion I know you want to have. Not trying to ‘throw water on your fire’ of a conversation.

I started a "boogies from china" thread some months ago. The sentiment on the board was mostly against a chinese made boogie.

So, what about a USA "walmart" boogie amp head? (lowest possible cost, no frills) 50 watt 6L6, single channel, no effects loop. Only has gain, treble, mid, bass, volume.

I should note that the lowering of prices (walmart et al) has lowered the standard of living for everyone. Its a ripple effect.

If Mesa starts selling Chinese made amps at Walmart I will be switching entirely to Splawn and Fryette amps!

Hat's off to Randall for doing it right. Mesa amps are a credit to the term "made in America". He could have sold out long ago but didn't. Their customer service is top-notch even after all these years & they continue to innovate.

bogner has the alchemist which is getting some good reviews. would mesa make a MIC amp? times are tough. would you buy one?

Ahoy there peoples of the board, I was using Walmart as a metaphor for making stuff ultra cheap with no frills. I didn't intend to speculate that boogies would actually be sold at walmart or at any other big-box retailer. What a hilarious idea though -- who would have thought we would see Fender and Gibson brands all over video game stores in the guitar hero line. Line6 is putting itself in the games now too.

Does anybody know what percentage of the parts in Mesa amps are made in the USA?

I know that the speakers aren't.
The tubes aren't either.
Transformers? Pots? Tolex? Grills? Wood? Circuit Board (before printing), Wire?
If the Reverb tanks are made by Accutronics, they're made in the USA.

Me too. MIC Boogie would push me over the precipice and well on my way to THD, Frenzell and Rivera. I wont even leave MIC speakers in my amps..... they get replaced immediately with Eminence/Weber/ToneTubby......must be a reason wny they started using Emi-built Black Shadows.
