My channel A quits at higher volumes yet works when it is running quiet. Fuses are fine, tubes are all seated. Has this happened to anyone else?

Thanks

You mean it cuts out when played hard the volume drops out or when you turn up the volume, at a particular spot, the volume drops out? If it's the later, its a bad volume pot (had that problem on my 20/20).

Hi there. It cuts out and quits completely. Adjusting the volume makes no difference, it's completely gone.

No, what he means is does turning the volume knob up high make it cut out, or does playing hard at any volume setting make it cut out?

Ugh...I've had that happen before. Call Mesa and have them troubleshoot it. Sounds like you either have a bad pot, or you may need to have a technician check it out. I had an ancient 2:90 that I used for about 5 years straight and one day *poof* nothing. I had my tech check it out and he said that some of the wiring was fried and needed to be resodered. I got it fixed, but I soon after that bought a more modern 2:90.

Check the cable you are using for the footswitch. I had one with an intermittent short that drove me *NUTS* until I traced it down...
