anyone have any experience with some of the weirder celestion speakers? i bought a bogner 1x12 cube, but it had a celestion/ampeg bx12-2575.

i have no idea what the specs are--i think the impedance is 8 ohm, but other than that, no idea what the frequency response, power rating, or general ebay selling price. could someone fill me in for that?

not like anybody cares or anything, but i got a reply back from celestion's dr. decibel this week. he said:

I don't have the full specs but basically this speaker was ourversion of the Electro Voice EV12L that (for a Celestion) has a hugemagnet and coil to give a power handling of around 250W, sensitivity of100dB+ and wide frequency range from 60Hz to 6000Hz. It is the mostUn-Celestion Celestion guitar speaker you could have! They were not made in huge quantities as they were quiteexpensive but I have no idea of the current value. RegardsThe Doc

so yeah. it's a mostly clear, flat response, unlike most middy celestions. and yes, the magnet is huge. it's not quite as heavy weight-wise as the evm 12l, but it's not light by any means. i would think it'd be a bit bassy. i pretty much took the cab home and snipped it out to see if i could trade it for a v30, but the store didn't have any in stock.
