they're decent guitars, too much hype though

I wouldn't say it's better than any other (nice) super strat guitar

Some people in the ESP guitar forum have them and seem to like them alot. I really dig their looks (it doesn't mean they sound worth anything). But, from what I've read and heard, they seem to be pretty sick guitars. Don't know about prices though, things that get popular real fast tend to get a little pricey for what they are.....

i wasn't really looking at the super strats, i was looking at one of these...

i hear it's way better than a prs. i've had three prs guitars, and while cool, they don't deserve the hype they get.

I saw Michael Romeo playing a bolt on strat type last year at Gigantour. I hear they are tailored to shredding folk. Silmilar to what Ibanez used to be.

i have no experience with them but I remember a few years ago joel from killswitch engage used a PRS custom 22 but then switched over to caparison after being introduced to them by soilwork. I guess its works for him, but il tell you what his tone is brutal....although it could involve the H&K triamp MKII

Caparison are great guitars, better than Ibanez and gibson fender. that´s a personal opinion of course. I use to play on Ibanez jem series but have now switched to Caparison.

It's funny that you responded to this thread, because I'm seriously considering buying a Dellinger. I tried for about a month to buy an Angelus HGS from Guitar Asylum...but they never returned any of my phone calls or emails. I'm not too upset though because I've become more of a super strat guy anyway. I have a few Ibanez RG's and I was wondering what the Dellinger's neck feels like in comparison?

the dellinger neck is thicker but in a good way. it ís difficult to explain. they are very nice. i used to get cramp from ibanez

I had one of the new Caparison Dellinger II FX-HGS fixed bridge models. They come out next month but I got ahold of one early. I hated it. The RGA-121 I used to own killed it. Don't buy the Craparison hype. If you do. Don't buy it from Guitar Asylum unless you like getting raped. Order one from one of the Japan dealers. You cant get it for less than $1,500 shipped to the US.

the unique engineering of these guitars look makes them look really interesting...it's too bad I'm not in New York to try one out.

One of the most unique things I've seen since Mcnaught (with his set neck thru design).

What didn't you like about it?

I didn't think the build quality was even close to the Japan ESPs and USA Jacksons I've owned. I thought the tone of the mahogany was terrible compared to other mahogany guitars. The stock pick-ups were weak. I prefer a much higher output pick-up. The Dragon II pups on my PRS kill these pups. I didn't like the finish. The fixed bridge was a little odd too. The input jack is in a strange place and the angle of the 1/4' jack was screwed up. I have some higher-end cables with Neutrik plugs and they kept popping out of the input jack. Other cables stayed in there though. The case was cheap - like it was made in some Chinese sweatshop. For the price of the guitar I expected alot more.

On the positive side. The neck was nice and the action was pretty low. I kind of like the headstock too.

The the action/neck is always tweakable and I'd put EMG's in it anyway...so I'm really thinking about the Dellinger II in pro black.
