Can the Mark V effects loop be controlled externally?

I see that there are jacks for the channels, EQ and solo, but can the effects loop be switched on and off with an external switcher? Thanks!

Yes, with a suitable unit that connects to the footswitch connector. I use a One Control OC10 switcher/looper for my pedal board, so I bought a Mini Amp Gizmo which means I can MIDI switch Channel/EQ/Solo/Reverb/Loop in whatever combination I like with 1 click. A lot of other Mk V owners have done this as well.

It's a hugely flexible amp. All my previous amps had *something* which couldn't be done, this one does everything.

Yes, there are many options and I LOVE that about the Marl V and the Mark IV for that matter.

I use an old Rockman Midi Octopus. Used it on my Mark IV before I got the Mark V and just made the transfer when the Mark V arrived.
Now I can control switching, loop, EQ, Solo from my midi foot controller. It's awesome!

The RJM products mentioned above are excellent as well. I just have 2 midi Octopus units from back in the day and they still work perfectly.

Anyway, bottom line is it can be done and it's relatively easy to do.

Thank you both for your replies! I found the Amp Gizmo shortly after I posted this, and then you guys solidified that it was the right choice. Can't wait for the amp to show up and have so much flexibility in the press of a single switch!

I know I'm a little late to the thread, but I've gotta agree with the other posts. I use an RJM Mini Amp Gizmo, and I love it. Everything that is footswitchable on my MkV is now MIDI switchable through my TC G-System. A great product.

I only care about channel switching, so the single TRS relay on my G-Major 2 is all I need to switch between any of the three channels. I wouldn't mind having access to the solo function, but the convenience and simplicity of this setup is nice.
