I am planning to buy spare tubes for the mesa roadster. I like 6l6. Should I go with mesa 6l6 or check out any other brand? Any suggestions?

If you like what you are running now, buy those. If you should go without the need for the spares, you will already have your tubes for your next re-tube.

I pulled the Mesa STR-440's that my Roadster came with after about a week and threw in =C= 6L6's from Dougs which I fell in love with. I'm using the STR-440's as my backups.

aahh ok, what is the sound difference between the STR'S and the =C= 's ? I might get some myself.

The big differance is that the =C= seem to really bloom at volume. At good volumes (MV 11:00 - 12:00) the tube are very open and 3D sounding with good harmonics. Muted single note runs are punchy and tight (yes, I said tight) and the tube has a smooth top end.

At lower volumes the differance is not really that noticable, but the STR-440 is a little too brittle for me.

Have put the =C='s in and cruising nicely, getting some awesome tones with my Gibson std on Ch2
