buying a mark iv, suggestions please!

This is my first post here. So I want to buy a mark iv. I understand that there are differences (though not much) between the a and b versions. Is there any difference between 90's b's versus ones made more recently? If you were going to buy a mark iv would you be looking for the newest one you could find, or the oldest?

I would think that newer ones would have a better chance of being in better condition, but do older ones (a or b) sound "better" in any way? Should a more recent mark iv sell for more or less than say, a 1992 a. Thanks!

My suggestion would be to wait until winter NAMM. Then start looking for a MkIV. :twisted:

Joey, before that, I would suggest the poster does some searching, or even just clicks on the Mark IV sticky in the Mark Series forum.

MarkIVA's are brighter, a bit more open sounding and have some different controls on the back. The B version is a bit darker/modern, bit compressed, and has a couple of new options. Read through the Mark4 thread completely.
Also, Mark5 may come out in a few months
