I am beginning to collect vintage tubes (mainly 12ax7's) and was wondering if anyone knows of a place to get a nice box designed to store them?

I know you can find generic white tube boxes on ebay but does anyone know of anyone that makes anything slightly different that can hold a number of tubes safely?

Like a sturdy display box or anything?

Cheers

Me, I wrap 'em in recycled plastic bags from the supermarket, and stuff 'em in Reddenbacher popcorn boxes. A quad of 6L6s just fits. I'm a cheap *******, I admit. :D

Nice finds,

Although I will add that the 'box' I am looking for doesn't need to be transport proof. Even a display like case would do.

I will check out those pelican cases though. They do look kinda heavy duty however

Actually after checking the Pelican website...they have a ton of choices! One of these should fit the bill perfectly!

Can the foam be manipulated into any shape arrangement?

Look for "tube caddies" on ebay. They are made to store tubes. It would be best to use the "generic white boxes" no matter what you use for bulk storage.

From what I have seen most of the "Pellican" style cases have roughly square foam blocks that can be removed to make any size arrangement.
