Boosting a Mark IV

Ok, I'm confused now... the MKIV has so much gain already, why even run an OD pedal? What's the advantage? More choices with each channel?

I've never felt the need to boost mine either, but I'm just curious, that's all. I've always thought they have more than enough gain and compression, but Rhy2 has always been lacking for me. Boosting the Lead was an afterthought, but I'm interested to see how it goes. And more versatility is never a bad thing.
