My band will play some tunes from bon jovi.
I realize that IF I WAS YOUR MOTHER is wrong.
It should be IF I WERE YOUR MOTHER.
So english is not my first language maybe someone could explain why jon made this mistake on purpouse.
Yes purpouse because I know he did it because he wanted .

Good grammar has never been a priority when it comes to popular music. Songwriters will abuse the language just because it sounds better in the context of the song, or because the wrong way is easier to sing. Forget the rules.

It doesnt sound completely wrong to people wich english is your first language or it is just a small mistake tha doesnt sound so bad ?
