Hi,

I've got 3 x EV EVM-12L speakers in my possession :-

1 x Black Shadow (blown) which clearly states 8 ohm (200watt)
1 x OEM EVM-12L (good) which has a number ink stamped on the back of "812 9460 725"
1 x OEM EVM-12L (blown) which has the same OEM markings as the one above but the only number stamped on this one is "053"

Is there any way of finding out if the OEM ones are 8 ohm or 16ohm ?

Need to know so I can order the correct re-cone kits.

Any help appreciated,

You can measure the resistance (which is different than impedance) w/a multi-meter. The 8-ohm EV's show between 5-7 ohms as i recall.

If I'm not mistaken, and I often am, I believe the impedance depends on the voice coil. In other words, you say you're ordering a recone kit, so you should be able to order an 8 ohm kit, or a 16 ohm kit, etc.

Great info,

thanks, seeing as my "good" speaker is 8 ohm I'll order the 8 ohm repair kits, can't go wrong then.

Cheers guys.
