Wow did I dodge a bullet today. I was trying a quad of EL34's again and decided to put the 6l6's back in. I was playing and enjoying a great tone for about 10 minutes when I realized I never flipped the bias switch back.........what a tool

I think I screwed up the 6L6 all the way to the right. I called my Mesa Certified repair guy who actually answered and he told me I would have to run the amp longer to do tranny damage. Thank God it seems to run fine with new tubes as well as the 34's and sounds great.

Has anyone ever experienced this stupidity before?

I've never had bad moments, but I'm paranoid at times after powering on my Mark V head, that it's not connected to my recto 2x12 cab without a power cable.... I always triple check everything, esp that bias switch in the back before powering on.....

1. Check that power cable is connected from head to cab ( for non combo amps )
2. Check bias switch
3. Make sure standby switch is engaged
4. Check volume levels ( not accidentally switched too high ) Buddy of mine had a Marshall full stack, the volume was maxed to 10 and when he took amp off of stand-by.... holy s*&^
5. Now power on....

That's it!

I was at the tech today and he said the damage will happen to the tubes and you would really have to use the amp for a period of time to damage anything else. He said "it sounded real good hugh?". And of coarse it really did. Said I am fine thank God!!!!!!!

I am always so careful. Of coarse I had kids calling me every 2 seconds. I am lucky!
