It is not in the FX loop, but rather in between the TA and the 2:90. How should I set my levels? Pro or consumer? And I don't really know how to set my output, seeing as theres no way to see if the volume is the same without unhooking the G major and going from the TA straight to the 2:90, that seems like too much of a hassle.

Any recommendations?

Any help would be great, thanks!

Also is there a difference if I have A and B go into the G major and then out to the 2:90, and if I just have A go from the G major and then out to the 2:90? Whats the point of having A and B go from the TA to the G major? The signal coming out of both sides is the same and doesnt get stereo-a-tized until it reaches the G major.

Thanks!

Lastly, would it be more beneficial to run the G major in the FX loop? Thanks once again!

Unless you're switching the G-Major between multiple preamps (say with a GCX) where it's more convenient to switch a mono output off the pre's to the G-Major and then run the stereo outputs to the power amp, I'd use the FX loop. Either way it's serial - I find I can use my G-Major to help tame the LD2 tones as well.

okay, ive been using it in the FX loops for awhile, but ive been having one big problem. Levels. I have my settings set up according to how people have theirs setup here, but when I engage the FX loop, the level drops a lot, even with the gmajor's output on maximum, and the global output on max and preset volume input on 0db (default is -6db) and its still quieter. How do you guys have your gmajor's set up with your TAs in terms of levels?

thx

I'm using my G-Major with factory settings for the Global output. I've got the front panel input and output controls set at around 2 o'clock. If you're experiencing a dramatic drop in level when the G-Major is in the loop you might check your line level settings. Also, some effects types (compression, envelope filter) / mixes will tend to limit or reduce the peak output through the loop.

When I first bought my G-Major I used it in the effects loop of my Fender Concert II combo. Using a simple reverb effect on the G-Major, I would play without the G-Major plugged into the fx send on the combo, then with it plugged in until I had a consistent volume level between the two.

Also, the bypass on the G-Major does not bypass it's input and output level controls - just the effects blocks. So it's not a good way to A/B.

The output level on the TriAxis determines the effects return level (there's not specific control of the send level other than the patch master level). I'm running my TA's output at 2 - 3, and my 20/20 between the 8 o'clock and 12 o'clock positions depending on how LOUD I'm playing.

You might want to reset the G-Major to factory settings, then re-structure your gain by using the TA output level and power amp levels to set the general volume level, run your TriAxis with the effects loop on and choose the appropriate effect (or NON-effect - you can create a no-effect effect or a simple minimal reverb) to use for that program / patch. You'll always go through the G-Major but your levels will be more consistent.
