i have an avatar 4x12 and a marshall 4x12

whats the best way to plug them both in ?

the avatar has 2 jacks and the marshall has one

should i plug out from my mark III and split it to both or use direct out from my boogie to one and regular output for the other?

thanks

I don't think he's asking about 2 amps. First thing it would be essential to know is what ohms are the cabs. If they are both 8 ohm cabs, the plug each into the two 4 ohm jacks on the back of your Mark III. If thay are different ohm values, then check the Mesa site for online manuals where they show SAFE mismatches of cabs.
For instance http://www.mesaboogie.com/manuals/F-Series.pdf pages 19 thru 24.

Hope that helps,

Mike

they are both 8 ohm mike

the only difference is the marshall has only one plug where as the avatar has 2

so i just plug one 8ohm out to the marshall with one plug and two out from the mark III to the 2 plugins on the avatar?

my mark III wont push both at the same time?

The Avatar cab has two jacks on the back, I'm pretty sure, for daisy chaining. That's how it is on my Avatar 2x12.
That being said, your cab is a 4x12, and might be wired for mono/stereo, where you can actually split the cab into essentially two 2x12's. You'd have to check the wiring on the jack. If they are wired together, it should be just for Daisy chaining. So you would go from the Mark III 8 ohm into the Avatar, then run a cable from the second Avatar jack into you Marshall cab. If you are UNSURE AT ALL, check with a local knowledgeable music store, or call Dave at Avatar at 208.762.5251, or call Mesa Boogie at 707-778-6565. Both are very helpful.

Good Luck,
Mike

i was mentioning the link

Run one cable from each of the 4 ohm outputs of the Mark III to the input jacks of the Avatar cab. Listen for all speakers to be active. Then remove one of the cables to see if two of the speakers shut down. If they do not, then the Avatar has a parallel jack for daisy chaining. If this is the case, you can connect the Mark III 4 ohm out> one jack of the Avatar, then the other jack of the Avatar>Marshall cab input.

Or run a cable from each of the 4 ohm outputs of the Mark III to one input jack on each cab.

If two of the speakers shut down on the Avatar when you pull one of the cables out, you have a stereo input jack. This will require a Y-adapter to make all four speakers function in mono in the Avatar cab. I would then check the tip to ground resistance with a meter to see if you are in the ballpark as far as total impedance goes.

Hope I did not confuse things even more.

I think that's the best bet right there...

what are the chances of the impedance being off with both cabs saying they are 8 ohm each?

i hooked it up daisy chaining it from the avatar and it works good

right now its both 4ohm out of the boogie into one plug of avatar one out of avatar to marshall

should i still check the impedance with a meter?

Should be fine. 2- 8 ohm cabs=4 ohms total load. Mark III's have a very beefy transformer that can take a lot of abuse, but if your worried about it open up the back of your cab and check the wiring.
