i'm running a mag/piezo custom guitar and i'm wondering if anyone out there has spent much time looking into a delay/reverb unit (digital or analog) that would be good for an acoustic signal path. i have an lr baggs para di and would run it in that fx loop after a chorus.

not looking for anything too fancy, but would like it to do more than one sound and maybe have it midi controllable. nova reverb looks to be the best candidate right now.

in the rest of the rack, i have a gcx and will be getting an effect gizmo so loops are not insufficient. i'm running the mag signal through an m3000. i had gone over routing an a/b mag-piezo path to occasionally do l/r mag/piezo splitting into the m3000 to get 2 independent channels as necessary, like petrucci's parallel pickups tones in songs like the intro to count of tuscany.

the ultimate result would be a huge mess and not very straight forward to program, not to mention who knows what tone will be lost splitting and recombining the signals (in theory, none if properly wired). i redrew and went back and forth about it 10 times and it's definitely possible, but it's not nice and it's just easier to buy a separate unit for the acoustic side.

this is not a priority right now because i'm a gigging musician and i could potentially rely on a house pa to provide a nominal amount of verb at the very least.

as a side question, does anyone know for mostly sure why john petrucci needs 3 m3000 units? i can imagine he uses one for backup and at least one for his main tones, but do you think he has one separately for an independent mag and piezo split?

did this all in powerpoint. here's my routing prototype:
