As far as i know Petrucci uses Axe-Fx for effects. He is using Mark FIVE's Preamps.

What about Axe-FX's Mark IV models? It has 5 modes of Mark IV. Maybe later i ll buy an Axe-FX Ultra and use its Mark IV modelling and Mark V's power amp.

For home playing, I feel the Axe would win out slightly provided you have a way to amplify it. I'm currently living in an an apartment, so turning on my Herbert to a decent level would be too loud.

The Axe allows me to play without bothering anyone and I can get cranked up sounds at low volumes and it gives me a lot more flexibility than I'd have with a couple pedals and my Herbert.

In the end, you can't go wrong either way.

I think i'll choose Mark V because it has tube. It gives different feeling. And also there is nowhere i can buy an axe-fx. Because of customs i cant buy it from ebay. There is a new mesa dealer. (Turkey) So i'll buy my amplifier from there. Maybe if i go to another country and there is a place i can buy an axe-fx i'll think about that.

You won't be disapointed. With 10 watts you can get awesome tones at low volumes. Obviously you wont have crazy stereo effects coming through headphones for late night jams.. but you will have what any solid state preamp tries to nail, authentic tube tone.
