Yes, and No if these Sylvania 6L6s are same as MESA's STR-415s.

I get the impression when these Sylvania tubes were abundance, MESA would had their specification and testing them all and weed out the ones that didn't meet their specifications.

So those you mentioned selling on E-Bay may meet or not meet MESA specification. If they reasonable price, it might be worth getting anyway.

It's hard to find non-Mesa Sylvanias that are suited to Boogies because most dealers don't know how to rate them for Boogies. You want tubes that idle at a certain current range (roughly between 25 and 35 mA, depending on which tube sockets) at the plate voltages for your amp (typically between 460 and 480 plate volts for Marks). Most eBay dealers test the tubes at 400 volts, which is not truly indicative of what they will see in your amp.

To make matters worse, so some-called "dealers" will "match" tubes based upon the mircomhos reading, usually in the 5000 range for most power tubes tested on a Hickock tester. This is simply a reading of how strong the tube is in terms of emissions (longevity), and not a measure of how much current the tube will draw in your amp. Installing tubes are are significantly incorrect for your amp could result in catastrophic tube failure and major amp damage.

just look for mesa branded str 415's... they pop up for sale on ebay from time to time

nice! those are the ones... they are sylvania... should last many years, maybe 5000 to 10,000 hours. If you get a backup pair, you should be set for a long time.
have you tried them out yet? still in love with the C+??
