I have a mesa boogie 50 caliber + head and really dig all the sounds i'm getting. I also have a Pod rackmount and was wondering if there was a way to run it into the power amp of the 50 caliber and then switch between the two? I know I can use the amp as just a power amp, but i want to use both preamps. I figure I would need an a/b box at least.

I'm thinking guitar->a/b box->output a to input of mesa/->output b to Pod->into effects return

Is the Rackmount POD midi controllable? if it is you can try running it thru the FX loop on the head and you should be able to program changes on a midi floor switcher to change between channels and effects. So you could use clean on the amp and POD distortion or dirty on the head and pod FX. My experiance with the pod I used to have is it sounded like *** thru my rectifier, I got rid of it and am replacing with a TC Electronics G Major
