I was thinking about picking up a 1x12 cab to keep at home so I can bring my rack and Mark V home between practices to tweak settings and so forth. I'd like to also have the possibility of using it for gigs where the stage/venue is really small.
Any recommendations? I know that it is not going to sound the same as my oversize recto cab, but was wondering if anyone had one they liked with their V.

I'm considering doing the same thing. Leave my 2x12 roadking at church and have a smaller 1x12 widebody to have at home and carry for rehearsals.

I have a pair of Bogner 1 x 12 cubes. I have used just one before and it sounds good to me. Much better than a stock Mark V combo amp.

I have a wide body Mesa 1x12 closed back cab I use as an alternative to my 2x12 and 4x12 cabs. You have to adjust the eq to compensate for the difference. But, in a small venue it works great.

I own a Mesa 1x12" wide body half-closed back. Originaly it was loaded with a C90, but I replaced it with an EVM-12L.
It really really rocks !

I own a Stiletto 1x12, loaded with a V30. This cab is in use with a Dual Recti (Reborn, set to 50 watts) and a Mark V (set to 10 or 45 watts). Sounds great but, as said before, there's a difference in sound compared to larger cabs.

I have a wide body half-open 1x12 with an MC90, which I closed up with a removable panel that I made. I like the tighter sound of it closed, whether with my Mark V head or Mark IIB driving it. It really rocks, and is a great pretty light rig when I don't want to drag a bigger cab to a smaller venue or practice. The low end is quite good for a 1x12.

I have a 1x12 Widebody. I've owned since owing the mark v. I gotta say I prefer the 1x12 to the 2x12 that I recently sold. I found the 2x12 to be quite a dark sounding cab. and even the guys in the band preferred the 1x12 they said my sound cut through a lot more. Which I found quite interesting. It's very loud as well. Plus its easier to transport to gigs and fits in my car. I find we have limited room at some venues and the 1x12 sits snuggly between my drummer and keyboard players setup.

I was thinking of buying a compact 2x12 that boogie make but now I'm thinking I should just buy another 1x12 cab. One for a spare and studio and then if I ever wanna hook up the second one I can. Does anyone hook up 2 x 1x12 cabs with their mark v? I'd be interested to hear you thoughts in it.

Thank

Paul

Yes, I have a pair of Bogner 1 x 12's. They both have vintage 30's and I love them. I also have a pair of Lopo Line 2 x 12's with vintage 30's. I also think it is a little too dark, the Bogners sound better.
