The title pretty much says it all. If any of you do fry/false cord/other type of "alternative" vocalization, I would appreciate if anyone knows how he sings. I tried frying - sounds too weak without cupping the mic and too distorted (not enough note). False cord doesn't work either, because it has no note.

I came to the conclusion that he's probably just yelling very loudly with a very open throat (I tried that and it sounded spot on)... but is it possible to do that for an hour... ??? Okay, maybe he can, but he has a much deeper voice than I do, so his vocal cords are thicker and can take more of a beating, I guess...? I tried singing a couple of verses that way and I sounded fine, but I had the feeling I would be hard-pressed to do that while playing guitar too.
And how the hell does he do that high pitched **** if he's NOT frying (for example 2:36 and 9:06 from "Clenching the Fists of Dissent")

I don't know if this forum has a lot of vocalists on board but I guess I can't hurt to ask. The reason I'm asking is because we might (big emphasis on MIGHT, we're probably not gonna though since we have to detune to D standard) cover Aesthetics of Hate, and I don't wanna sound whack, that would be degrading the original.

Yeah. I tried yelling it just now but I can't really belt it full tilt with parents home (they don't disapprove but I can't imagine it can be annoying so it's hard for me to relax) so it sounded worse than **** xD

I know he is Melissa Cross' student and I like her DVDs and stuff, but what I don't like is that I get the feeling that she wants to force fry on everyone. Doubt she could do that with Rob and it doesn't sound like it either so I'm still puzzled.
