I have an amp in for repair. It came in with a complete new set of Mullard re-issue 12AX7's.
1 hums like Cesna ready for take off.
1 is so microphonic that I can make it feedback just by walking past the amp.
The other 4 seem ok, but are fairly noisy.

I'm just wondering if this is normal for these. I seem to remember reading about some of the 1st ones being a little noisy.

They sure do look pretty and sound sweet though!
 Reminds me of an old girlfriend I used to have! She made a lot of noise, but man was she sweet!

I just ordered 2 of the Mullard reissues to try in V1 on my Rectos. I will let you know. Aside from the noise, how is the tone?

I bought a few last year and I'm still using a couple in my mark4. don't remember any noise issues. they have a pretty flat eq'ing, so I kind of liked that aspect

The amp sounded really good, but a little more noisy than it should have.

I have an NOS Mullard in V3 of my Heartbreaker and it really sweetened the Lust channel up a lot.

I have 3 Mullard re-issuess that I bought when they 1st came out and they all are microphonic. I've been waiting to build a low gain preamp and try them in that, but haven't had the time yet.
