Anyone ever see about modding a 2ch Dual to pre 500 specs?

I sense a boogiefest brewing....If you do, please look into doing a recording of sorts (vid or clips)

This is a fantastic idea.

It would be great if people could use the same guitar, guitar lead, settings, tubes, pickups, speaker leads cab, mic placement etc for science, of course!

I've heard a couple of clips of Rev Cs and Ds on youtube and there definitely is a difference. The early Duals are tighter and really remind me of a Soldano SLO. The resemblance is spooky.

The right boost can be very transparent. I own a TS808 RI and I use it as a clean boost. Gain=0, Tone 4-7, Level = max or parity. Also heard good things about the BB preamp, Maxon 808, and if you want more mids the original aTS-9.

Biggest pain to me is the tap dancing turning things on and off + switching channels.

Personally if your happy with the Rev. F, I'd leave it the way it is. Guys that have owned or played other revisions have their preferences. If you like the amp who cares what the revision is?

I've played El Pelotero's C and D, an F, Singles (both series 1 and 2), and a Voodoo modded Triple. I'm by no means an expert but any of which would have made a wonderful addition to my collection.

Hey Clutch, sounds like you need one of these...

That's an old pic of my small board, though I've replaced the RV-5 with my X2 wireless now. The bottom left is my Loop-Master footswitch with dual loops. It's a footswitch to change your channels, but each channel has a loop dedicated to it. For instance, I have my OD808 and my NS-2 in my heavy channel loop and the RV-5 (now nothing) in the clean channel. So I switch to my heavy channel and my OD808/NS-2 are active. I switch to cleans and both of them are shut off with the push of one switch. Works out really well when you don't want to use rack gear but don't want to push 2-3 switches just to from clean to dirty.
