Hi, I have a DC-5 112 combo, and I'm seriously considering building an enclosure so I can use my amp as just the head.
What I'm thinking is to get a sheet of thick birch plywood (apparently Home Depot sells some) and using the measurements from the upper half of my combo to make the head. Also found some here - http://www.rockler.com/product.cfm?page=846&cookietest=1
I would then cover the plywood in black tolex (upholstery stores) and make some sort of a grille, transfer the Mesa/Boogie plaque to the new grille, and put it all together.
My other option would be to get a large plank of some nice wood and stain it.
My question is, what would be the strongest way to attach the pieces of wood, without using screws? I was thinking about making notches like I see on exotic-wood Boogie combos, but I have no idea how much work that would be without a CNC machine. And where would I get grille cloth?
