I have a chance to pick up a 4x10 Maverick combo. Are these good? How close to an AC30 will it get? Do you get enough bottom end with the 10s and a combo? What do these go for? I saw a 2x12 on Ebay that seemed to go pretty cheap.

Are 4x10s similar in value?

I can't answer all your questions, but I will say the Maverick is a very under appreciated and over looked amp IMO making it a real bargain. I bought a 4-10 combo used for about half of its original retail price. It has a sweet, chimey clean channel that breaks up very musically and a hot-rodded Bassman or early Marshall type drive channel that absolutely sings. Sufficient, but not huge bottom end out of the Jensens depending on the room and position. I ran mine into my 4-12 cab and found that you could get pretty decent "chunk" and bottom end. I installed beam blockers over all four of them to be able to use the treble frequencies without the "ice pick". The Jensen alnicos have a very nice vintage vibe, great for blues and rock. Although they are a very loud 35 watts, there's not much headroom to be had. If you dig the AC30 sound you should definitely check out the Maverick.
