ok, so i'm going to have to retract. Based on my 1st experience, i bought two more of these but they don't sound the same: crap. i'm so tired of tube swapping. i swear i'm going to break down & buy a maxi-matcher one of these days.

Just put one of these in the PI (v5) position of my Mark III and it's never sounded better.

haven't cranked it up yet so i don't know if there're any feedback issues but at low volumes it's beautiful. (in a rip-your-face-off kind of way)

kidding. but it improves the tonality/responsive-ness of the whole amp. now i gotta try their short-plate gold-pin tubes & see if maybe they're a good replacement for the tung-sols i've been using.

Hmm, I actually have one of these sitting around not doing a darn thing. Never thought about PI.

Will have to find some time to A/B the darn thing and then see how it holds up.

Thanks

Gold pin?

i've got the non-gold version as well & it doesn't sound as good.
