Since the RK II can assign different speaker cabs, is anyone using the RK 2 X 12 cab, switching from speaker a for cleans and speaker speaker b for distortion and both speakers for all out in your face assult? I ordered my RK head the other day but I am now looking for a cab. I do have a Marshall 4 X 12 with both vintage 30's and Greenbacks wired in an X pattern but it's too big to haul around. Any thoughts?

Can someone clarify that you can split the cab's 2 speakers safely?

I'm sure you can do it but i'd like to be safe before i try it too.

It should be safe, that's the entire point of the road king cab, isn't it?

Yes,

Each speaker is 8 ohms... so you could do A or B on the speaker outs. You can use the 4 ohm jack and use both, I never do though.

My only complaint with the 2x12 is that the speaker wattage rating isn't very high for the v30s (60 watts)... so you it can be unsafe you run your RK on 100watts or 120watts with a hotplate.
