Amp channel switching question

Hey guys, I just got a GCX Audio Switcher to switch channels on my Roadster head. My only question is, for relay switching, does it matter what type of cable is used? I know it's a 1/4" cable but does its quality matter? Can i get cheapo $2 cables just for switching and use the good quality cables for audio?

Cheap cables should work fine as long as they hold up to typical abuse.
