I am very curious to see others settings, i'd like to know from those playing gig volumes where they keep their lead settings at specifically the presence (in or pulled and where is it at?)

I am finding i have my markiv on harmonics, triode, class a el34s with pres pulled "out" just over 2 in order to get the mkiic sound as per the manual, im finding when presence is pushed "in" it is really low mid and bassy so it can be tweaked too but the manual says pulled is better with a band...

Someone chime in here..
im using a bogner 4x12 with h30s in the top and v30s in the bottom.

Here's my lead channel settings at the moment.
Gain 8 pulled
Treble 8
Bass 3
Mids 7
Drive 7.5 pushed
Channel & Master volume 2
Harmonics, Full Power, Simul-Class, Triode

I usually run my presence pushed for some extra ass-kicking, but I just tried it pulled out, running at about just over 2.

Here's my GEQ

I threw together an improvised pile of riffs on my Les Paul with these settings, mic'd up my Recto 4x12 with an AT4050 & an A460. Didn't alter the tracks afterward at all.

Check it out...

Enjoyed the clip, was your presence knob pushed in for this clipor pulled?

I am finding pushed in and pulled both sound awesome.. pushed in seems tighter while when it is pulled you get this amazing lead tone and more higher mid rhythm tone. I'll have to keep tweaking and try more with prespushed in as i've got a killer pulled tone for lead ch.

As I said, my presence was pulled for that clip. Sorry if I was unclear. I normally do run it pushed though. Glad you enjoyed the clip!

Hey, thanks for clarifying.. i assumed pulled but wanted to be sure.

I recently was tinkering back and forth to my mark iii red stripe and mark iv, i got them both dialed in as similar as i can but the iv has this high harmonics that it has tha tmake it so searing and awesome!! The redstripe is a bit more aggressive and harsher if i try to get the same high harmonics happening. Both are different enough to justify keeping but man i really see the step forward (4 ward ,lol no pun intended) with the transition from III to IV in terms of tone freq and what the knobs do. I am finding the pres pulled is what gives it that killer tone that im favouring over pushed.

Oh yea to properly explain my settings on the mark iv.. i am using the mark III settings for the graph eq from shortest straw (http://www.chain-metal.nl/mark3/front.php?bg=0&t=Metallica+-+Shortest+Straw&p=20&d1=90&d2=70&d3=20&d4=40&d5=45&d6=70&d7=50&p1=&p2=1&p3=&p4=1&p5=&p6=&p7=&g1=55&g2=45&g3=15&g4=30&g5=45), but i bumped up my 80hz slider to half way between the top and centre line. gain 8.5 treb 7 bass 2 mids 7 lead drive 7 pres just over 2 pulled harmonics triode full power EL34 classA

I use these settings with EMG 81 pups...
Gain pulled 7.8
Trebble 7
Bass 1.5
Mid 7
Lead Drive in 5.5
Master 3
Presence pushed 4
240 and 2200 sliders about 2 slider thicknesses above center
750 slider 1 thickness below center line
Triode
Simul
Harmonics
JJ EL34L's in the outers
Here is me playing live with these settings.
