hello everybody

in my mark V combo, i noticed a long screw on the chassis between the power tubes. you can see it on pictures.
it seems unscrewed. i'd like to know if you have the same screw in your combo or is it a fitting error.
thanks for your helps
best regards

My Electra Dyne had the exact same screw. I am curious as well!

It is only present in combos and helps minimize vibrations. It is pressing against the top of the combo shell to add rigidy to the middle of the chassis.

Well thats a good answer if ever there was one.

It might also aid in grounding since it makes contact with the foil under the top of the combo shell. Not completely sure about this though.

Yes. My Express 5:50 has the same screw.

Mine has the crazy screw too. It was sent to mesa for repairs, and the crazy screw returned with the amp. I have converted it to a head, so maybe I can chuck it. But why is the crazy screw, crazy long?
That is the question.

My heartbreaker head has the same screw as well. I think it may be there to keep from tightening the chassis too close to the cabinet but this is only a guess
