Hi to all the Mesa Boogie community members :D

This is a video for the "Shred This" competition which is held in youtube (that's the link for the competition if you need more info: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EQLnqpN3sW4)!
I used my Mark IV on this one, mic'ed with a Shure SM57 (to be honest I didn't spend a lot of time in positioning  ), Channel2 was used with a Boss Super Overdrive for just a slight boost to feel more comfortable in playing! I was amazed at how sweet it sounded, so I'd like to have an opinion from your ears on that one!

Thanks for your time guys, best greetings to all from Greece!

Brilliant dude.

Nice playing and a very nice tone. Now I'll need to rethink the r2 on my mk4. would you be willing to share your settings ?

Thanks very much for the kind words man! :D

I'll be away from my amp for about a month so I'll try to recall the settings!

R1+R2 Bass: Between 3-4 (in my combo, so in a big cab may need some tweaking)
R1+R2 Mid: Around 4-5
R2 Treble: Pretty maxed out, 9-9.5
Presence was pulled and around 1-1.5
GEQ was a slight V shape but with 6k slider cut down
Pentode - SimulClass - Tweed Power
And not to forget the boost, 9 o'clock drive, 1-2 o'clock level, 9-10 o'clock tone

sounds great, nice shredding
I love R2 for this type of playing, with a clean boost in front of it
I think it really sings (you sure make it sing)

Good playing! You combined a good rock feel and style with jazz attitude and melodies. I really liked it.

That was sweet as hell dude, nice playing, great tone. You did a killer job of showing what R2 is capable of! Nice melodies, you have good control over your sound. Was this improvised or written? Either way, good job!

Thanks very much for your kind words guys! :D
I too was amazed with the sweetness of R2, I always had been a fan of the lead channel (who isn't? :p) and this was a really pleasant change!

mrd --> This is composed mate, I am a fusion n00b so it would be very hard to improvise in this mood! :? But still, it tortured me a little to get a good take of all this thing

Thanks for your support guys! It's really appreciated!

Chris,
You seem like a refreshingly humble guy who has considerable talents. I enjoyed both of the videos I watched. Keep with it!

Thanks so much for the great reply man!
No reason to be anything else except humble, I am not doing rocket science! Just really enjoy playing the guitar and putting my emotions into music, same things thousands and thousands of guitarists around the world are doing!
