I'm curious if anyone on this board has tried 6V6's in their Lone Star yet and if so, what they thought about them?

Yeah, I was wondering the same thing. The LSC Owner's manual says it can be done (page 7 item 13). I wonder what the available power ratings would be given the settings specified (bias at 6L6 [obviously!],AC on low power [TWEED, I assume]), 8 ohm load on 4 ohm output)? Anyone have any ideas?

I had 6V6s in mine for a while and LOVED channel 2, channel 1 was lacking though. Run it in Tweed, 50watt, and 8ohm load to 4ohm output. I wish you could channel assign 6L6s channel1 and 6V6s channel 2. 8)

Why couldn't you place 2 6V6s in the outside sockets and 6L6s in the inner?

50 Watt setting you'd have the outside tubes (6V6s) and the 100 Watt all 4?

Hey. (2) 6V6's and (4) EL84's sound great mixed in a Blue Angel.

Ya never know until you try.......

Best of luck.
