I want to lower the gain and clear up the lead channel. I don't really use the amp for high gain. Has anyone tried a 5751 in either half or both of the lead channel 12ax7. Thanks- John

I have them in the #3&4 positions in my IIC+.It gets me the right amount of gain for blues rock and classic rock tones.Give it a shot, it reduces the gain just enough in my experience.

I'm with stokes, the 5751 works great IMHO, it gets rid of some of the buzz, but leaves the sparkle. I tried a 12at7, but lost the sparkle. I use the amp at lower gain too. I'm using my clean channel for my clean and crunch and love the 2nd channel for blues type leads and the 3rd channel for the over the top stuff.
