Hi all,
I'm fairly new here, have been looking around for a while and learned a lot...
I have owned a Mark IIa head for 11 years now. I always had a love/hate relationship with it.
But now after an entire tube change and a new speaker cab (Marshall 1965a, 4x10" speakers) I'm totally in love.
I had decided I wanted another Boogie so sold my Fender '59 Bassman reissue and bought a MB .50 Caliber+ head.
I'm a gain man anyway
I already changed the tubes and played on the same cabinet but the Caliber is missing some body compared to my Mark IIa.
I'm aware this amp will not sound like my Mark but are there mods for the Caliber?
I read about sending the amp to Monsta-Tone but I live in Belgium so i'm not going to send it overseas
Also the "clean channel" starts distorting when gain is at 3, is that normal?
Thanks!
Joris
