Could some of you guys who have experience with the 2 Chan Dual/Triple's give me a rundown of the Pro's and Con's of a Parallel FX Loop and a Serial FX Loop. I'm trying to figure out whether I should mod my 2 channel Recto when it arrives. Thanks.

I can't say how well they work in the DR's, but I can give a rundown of the principles envoled.

Parallel keeps you true amp tone in tact. It blends the effects you use into the power section along with the unaffected tone. just set your effects to full wet and set the return level where you need it.

Series sends all you amp tone through your effects and then to the power section. So your power section only gets the processed signal. You would have to adjust the wet/dry in your effects unit.

I've always used parallel when available.

Hope this helps.

Parallel works best for time based effects, and Serial works best for other types (if I remember). If you are more of a pedal kind of guy, Parallel may suit you better. If you have a big rack of processors, Serial may suit you better. If using Serial, you need to have quality, transparent effects units. Not a $100 multifx pedal. Certain effects only work in front of the amp, such as wah pedals. Typically folks report less hassle with Serial effects because it almost plays itself. With Parallel, there are often issues with phasing noises.

Personally I hated the Parallel loop in my DR. But I run an EQ in the loop, so that explains it. The pros is that your loop is useable and works better if you ask me. Others may disagree.
The cons is that you loose the footswitch capability of turning it off and on, so if you want a one tap solution to multiple pedals in the loop, you will lose that feature.
The mod is easily done, and easily reversed, so you can try it both ways to see what you like better pretty easily.

Maybe your return knob is the same as a mix pot. I don't know. My DR has a send knob for signal strength and a mix pot. It goes from 10% to 100%.

It's parallel. It's a Revision G, which all have parallel loops. Anything after '93 or so is parallel.

Are you sure about the footswitch thing? The original Rectos had a serial loop and still had the footswitch capabilities.

I think the 3 channel versions are the ones that lose the footswitching, and there's a mod you can do to the pedals to gain that back.

So will my Racktifier have a mix and send level? Or just a mix? Thanks for the info by the way.

It should have a mix and a send knob. To the poster who commented about losing the footswitch, there is apparently a mod out there that allows you to keep the footswitch, but you would lose the solo button. I have not seen it yet, but I guess it's out there.

Anyone knows what kind of loop has a 2006 Triple?
