2:Ninety Question

Just got a 2:90 for situations where the 20/20 doesn't have the headroom. When switching to half-power I noticed a low frequency pop, switching back was almost noiseless.

Is this typical?

Mine produces an audible pop when switching from full power to "half drive", but I don't recall if the same goes for the opposite.
