The JMP-1 seems to be good for producing very slick, "processed" sounding tones. This can be a good thing (Deftones, Smashing Pumpkins) if it's what you're after. I don't think it ever really sounds like an actual Marshall head.

The Rec Pre has a lot more "real" tone in it at the expense of convenience, and as a bonus it has the nicest clean tones you will ever find in a high-gain amp. Plus, humping around a rack based on a rec pre will give you more exercise than either the jmp-1 or TA :)

CoG: Thanks for the input. Ya I'm gonna try everything out in about a week 1/2 or so. I'm thinking about trying out the 2:90 with a Triaxis and Recto Pre. How do you think this would sound?

samhill: How would I be able to run the Triaxis through my Trip. Rect. Head If the Recto. preamp is similar then I might just keep my trip. Rect. Head and run a triaxis through it. Could I be able to run a 2:90 or 2:100 with a Triaxis and my Triple Rectifier Head? I would just have to switch between them right. Same concept as multiple pre-amps or no? Sorry for sooo many questions.

The 2:100 sounds better, trust me. Remember you must have a load on the Triple Rec(speaker or load box) at all times. You can easily switch between 2 preamps. You can switch between amps and preamps with a device like the "Amp Selector" by CAE..this keeps a load on the amps even if you just have 1 speaker cab. Here's the link: http://www.customaudioelectronics.com/amp_selectors.htm
It would be easier and cheaper to switch between 2 preamps and 1 poweramp than 1 pre, 1 head and 1 poweramp.

Have never tried my rec pre with a 2:90. It's supposed to be paired with a 2:100. I've bought a 20/20 because a 2:100 just didn't fit into my rig (too big and too loud) and I'm very happy with that.

ditto what sam said, switching between a pre/power combo and a head using the same cab seems like it would be a pain.

samhill: Ok. What about running a 2:100 or 2:90 with a Triaxis and Rect. Recording Preamp and then run these preamps through the CAE amp selector. Then I can pick between using the Triaxis sounds and the Rect. Sounds correct? How many preamps/power amps can you hook up to the CAE amp selector because it says up to 4 amps. Is this 4 preamps, or could I be able to use poweramps as well?

Your best to ask Bob Bradshaw at CAE or Mario at Axess Electronics. Axess has products like this as well with a quicker turn around time.
Yes the amp selector will do amps and preamps. If you are not using heads and you just want to switch preamps then there are cheaper alternatives like the GRX4 looper, GCX, Patchmate, etc. Always remember heads need a speaker load of some sort(the amps selector takes care of this)

Ok, Thanks. I'll give CAE a call since I'm considering their foot switch as well. I've heard the GCX is pretty good as well.

Don't rule out the Axess stuff...wicked.
