Hi,
I have just bought a 2:50. I use it with my ADA MP-1 classic. I was previously using it in the return loop of a marshall jubille amp. The amp is a bit different from other marshall in the sense that the EQ is post loop. So even with all controls at 12, there was some corrections implied. But it sounded great.
So switching to the 2:50 mean my presets all need to be redone.
The amp came shipped with 6L6's. It sound good but a bit bassy to my taste. I really like the fact that the marshall had more focused mids. I was wondering how much effect switching to EL34's would have.
Has anyone tried both tubes in this power amp? I would like to know if the difference is worth the change, before buying 2 sets of new tubes.
