1 or 2x12?

I have decided on purchasing this amp although the prices are sky high here in Italy (1,600 euros for the 1x12 or 1,700 for the 2x12). Which do you recommend? I have been told that the 2x12 is being discontinued based on the lack of popularity or price. Is that just idle gossip?
Any feedback will be greatly appreciated.

I have the 1/12 and a compact 1/12 cabinet and I absolutely love this set up. You can really hear this amp while standing in front of it. It is still a fairly portable set up but sounds like a rig with several more speakers.

I would stick with the 1/12 amp and consider picking up a compact Mesa 1/12 cabinet.

I own a 2*12 for a week now and it sounds great. I choose this amp because it have just a bit more body. I played two gigs with it and I didn't need to mic it. Plenty of power.
The only thing is it's weight. 33Kg! So if you do a lot of gigging, keep that in mind!
