1/4" TRS cables and 1/4" standard in a rack

I am trying to get some info on,hooking up a parametric eq through my prophesy preamp's effects loop.I was curious to know if I can use 1/4" TRS cables instead of standard 1/4" cables.The rack effects don't specify whether they are balanced or unbalanced jacks. Any suggestions??

Well. You CAN. But if your FX are unbalanced - there's no reason to. In fact, as far as I know, the Prophesy's loop isn't balanced either...

So it's possible, but 100% unnecessary.

There are certain components made that will help if you're needing to convert between unbalanced signals and true balanced signals.
