Value for a 230v Dual Rectifier Rackmount

Hi ppl, I don't post here much but hoping someone can give me an idea of the value of my Dual Recto Rackmount. Mine is Rev G. Serial Number is R-011XXX. All stock except the series mod has been done. Has EL34's in it at the moment. Many thanks.

Would I REALLY benefit from a Maxon OD808 in front?

I have a few different pedals on my board at the moment- on the front end of a Rev G Racto. Voodoolab Sparkledrive Fulltone OCD Emma Stinkbug Out of all of them the Stinkbug is my favourite for tightening up the bottom end.

Clean channel settings and orange channel for a Dual Rec

I'm not really a metal guy- more heavy rock so I use the clean and orange channels (red channel is vintage cloned) on my Dual Racto. Settings are as follows: 0 is all the way counter clockwise, 10 is all the way clockwise. 5 is at 12 oclock. Clean: Master: 5 Presence: 3-4 Bass: 5 Mid: 2-3...

    Telecasters and Rectifiers

I have a couple of tele's with Joe Barden and Harmonic Designs pickups. They sound wonderful with my DR.

    which Hot plate

8 Ohm will be the most useful if you want to use it with other amps at some stage.

    Dual Rectifier Effect Loop

IMHO people who think the DR loop "sucks" probably haven't read the manual. It is *different* to what you might expect as when it is engaged the channel master becomes an effect send level control that works in conjunction with the send level pot on the back of the amp. It can take a while to...

Might be getting Mesa Blue Angel head- looking for opinions.

Well, I bought it. Louder than I thought it was going to be- which isn't a bad thing but I might use a THD hotplate for living room levels. Very detailed sound- what I like is it makes whatever I plug into it sound like a bigger version of itself. What I mean is plug in a tele and it sounds...

You've sold me! Awesome Murph- I'll give it a go. FWIW I have a bunch of mods for the Prosonic. I have schematics for most of them- but one was done by Dave's Sound Repair in NJ to make the clean channel a bit cleaner. Let me know if you want the details.

A bit of both really. I have a Dual Recto and Prosonic- they are both really high gain amps of course- so nothing like that. Looking for something to go from on the edge smoky cleans to a crunchy overdrive. I play a lot of slide- mostly on a P90 loaded tele. I use a Durham Sex Drive pedal in...

    New (used) amp decision help

A used DC5 might be right up your alley. Nice cleans and Mark IV/Rectifier type distortion channel.

Might be getting Mesa Blue Angel head- looking for opinions.

Hi people, Been thinking of getting a Blue Angel head. I can get one here in the UK for around £400 (230v model). I was originally looking for a Bad Cat, 65 Amps or Matchless but they are hellishly expensive. Is a BA in the same sort of territory, tonally? I have a Marshall 2x12 with V30's...

Thanks guys. A couple more pics of the other amps: Fender Prosonic combo - heavily modded 1962 Fender Bassman (stock) with Marshall 2x12 with V30's. And a couple of the guitars: PRS Custom 24, 10 top, SD pickups. Gibson ES295 Archtop, Lollar pickups 3 Tele's: 2x Kinman...

LOL. Yes, you are right. I meant to say it is from 1998. I'm dyslexic- hasn't been quite so obvious in a while though. My apologies. The PRS Custom in the pic is from 1989 (quickly double checking)- I've had that since 1992- the Dual Recto I've had since around 1999.

Hi all, I'm new around here- just thought I'd pop in and say hi. I'm an session guy/producer living in London. I have a bunch of amps- but my pride of place is an '89 Dual Recto Rackmount. Had it since '92- bought it from Sunburt Music in Coogee, Australia. It has been all around the world...
