ok but i have one more question which is if i put a jj 12ax7 into the 1st and 2nd gain stage will it affect the clean channels

i know this might be a stupid question but i am confused about what is the differences between the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th gain stage preamp tubes. i am looking to increase the gain on channel 4 mainly in my roadking II but i'm not sure of any good high gain preamp tubes

i cant get any volume at all out of my roadking!!! i tried everything. please any suggestions :(

I had a volume loss between channel 3 and 4 on my road king. but i later found the reason why, which was that on channel 4 i had 4 6l6 and 2 EL34 and had it switch to diode. like i said, when you have the amp on (while still in stand by) switch through all the channels several times before you turn off stand by. That should stop the popping noise when switching channels

i use a 2x12 recto cab with a 2x12 roadking cab run with a RK head and i love the combination :twisted:

I found out that the volume swells are caused because of the reverb and unbalance between the clean and high gain channels. I have a road king and it does that but its because of the way i have it set up. as far as switching channels or the "pop", i switch between all the channels at least 10...

I don't have a roadster but rather the roadster's older brother the road king and i use a 2x12 rk cab and 2x12 recto cab. 2x12 are way easier to move around and fit into my car

yes the modern eagle does have a great metal tone. But i would say its really great for slower speed stuff like hard rock and heavy metal. But i don't use it for trash, I use my custom 24 with bare knuckle pickups for faster stuff. I found that the modern eagle has a great lead and rhythm tone...
