    I have come full circle

Hi, my name's Rich, and I'm a musicianaholic.... But seriously.. I feel like I just walked into my past- great tales of life, and lessons for those a few rungs lower on the age ladder. It's the hardest thing to give up the love of music for anything, putting that axe aside and denying the whole...

10 watt setting on the Lonestar Classic question

Wait for the 10w - I wish that was an option when I bought my rectoverb combo, lacking in the saturation dept. until the volume's at about 3.5-4, depending on the channel. The 10 gives you the option of the great gain at lower volume, what's the price dif? It'll cost somewhere from $260-$330 for...

Is the clean channel on my Rect O Verb hopeless??? Help!!!

Have you tried plugging straight into the amp (axe to amp, NO pedals between) to start? See what you're getting for a raw clean sound...Still nothing? I've got no issues with mine, plays warm as apple pie. Try this: with toggle on clean, dial in these settings- Gain@2:00, Treb.@ 1:00, Mid @...

    Bugera 6260.... 5150 knock off??

A bit disappointing, more and more "hencho en Chine" labels...the "Alchemist" line must be the economy line, thing is, they're gonna make more $ off these than any other amp...just wait 'til the repairs start coming in. I wonder if they'll offer the same "limited lifetime warranty" on these.

attempting to fix my secondary amp...please help

Question 1: was there a mesa boogie amp in the same room when this happened? Question 2: When it started smoking, did it smell like chicken? I couldn't resist :D I'm not sure if your amp is fried, or repairable- seems like you're doing what needs to be done...just replace that transistor...

    Gibson Les Paul info needed

What are you looking to do? Playing out is definitely a bit of a chore, lugging around 9-11 pounds of mahogany and wire, but I can honestly say there is a difference, even plugged in- if you can deal w/ the weight, go w/ solid body. I had been shopping seriously for 7-8 months and playing...

ssssaturation from a rectoverb combo...at low volume?

I wonder if Boogie offers a mod that would cut the volume in half, while the tubes are still aglow.....hmmm...sounds like a boutique amp.. I guess that for what I paid for the amp, I think its one of the more versatile amps available for less than 1500 balloons, so if I gotta do some tweakin...

ssssaturation from a rectoverb combo...at low volume?

Thanx for the info....is there much of a sound difference with swapping out tubes, or is it not worth my while? I guess I'm shopping for a hotplate....I will check out that SD-1 via your link, as well as the TS 108 (is the "RI" for re-issue?) It's just tough to buy an effect without playing thru...

ssssaturation from a rectoverb combo...at low volume?

Had this amp been offered in a 30W model (hint to mesa's R&D team :) ), I would have bought it. Does a hotplate make that much of a difference? I haven't found an OD pedal that I'm completely happy with yet. I was sampling this amp to see what it offered before I got one. I'm currently running...

ssssaturation from a rectoverb combo...at low volume?

I've got a rectoverb 50W combo 1-12 series 2, completely stock, and I'm looking to make it "my own"- the 90W speaker seems a bit too stiff for the volume I play at (mostly at 3 or 4). I'm wondering if anyone has any input on what I should change it to, as well as possibly changing the preamp or...
