Replied to your PM Rich. Thanks!

Mint Mesa Mark IV short head shell

Mint condition Mesa Mark IV head shell. Came off a 2001 Mark IV Rev B the day it was delivered to the original owner, and the original amp was put in a rackmount enclosure for studio work. It was put back in the head shell when I bought it, and was immediately put back in a rackmount...

FS: Two Mesa Mark series rackmount kits.

One is a recent rackmount kit purchased from Mesa. The other is an older Mark II/III era rackmount kit. Both appear to be the same dimensions, and should fit all the Mark Series amps from I-IV (not sure on I, but pretty sure on II-IV). Newer Mark kit is SOLD! This is the older Mark II/III...

    Dimarzio .vs Seymour Duncan?

The JB was the standard bridge pickup for 80's metal. For today, it's mostly EMG's and now SD Blackouts when it comes to high gain/extreme metal. That said, I love the JB in some situations, and hate it in others. Same with the DiMarzio Tone Zone and Evolution. Sometimes a pickup works well...

    Studio Preamp

That was the San Francisco GC that had the studio for $1200, and they still have it. I called them up and asked them what was special about it because the going rate for pristine units was $500. He got mad at me and hung up. Most likely they mistakenly front loaded a trade and didn't realize...

FS: Mesa Boogie Mark IIC+ short head (Fully Loaded)

Value is kind of a toss up because the world economy is so turbulent right now. Prices have been all over the map over the last 30 days. I buy a lot of used gear, so I keep track of the going rate of stuff. I saw a pre-500 Dual Rec go for $2600+, and another go for $1200 (wish I had snagged...

Mesa gear for sale: 2:Fifty, Studio preamp, Quad Preamp

Sorry guys. I didn't mean to fall off the face of the planet. My financial situation that was forcing me to sell changed, thankfully. If I end up selling any of this stuff, I'll be sure to contact those of you who have pm'd me.

    Mesa pullin' a fast one?!

    Names would be trademarked.

is the roadking II gonig to be obsolete???

I own a compact head as well, and it is currently rackmounted, but what you and I own is not the point. For all intents and purposes, the Mark IV hasn't been selling well for some time, and that's why they killed it off, just like they did the DC and F series. Of course, one thing I was...

is the roadking II gonig to be obsolete???

The reason no one inventories them is because they are made in smaller batches and they have not been selling that well. The Mark IV is a great amp, and I love mine, but there were several issues with them: 1: They weren't rectos, and that's really all Mesa seems to put their advertising money...

    1986 Mesa/Boogie Mark III Combo, Simul/Class A, EQ

Will do. BTW, congrats on the baby. I've got 5 kids and they rock. Teaching my oldest two how to play guitar right now.

    1986 Mesa/Boogie Mark III Combo, Simul/Class A, EQ

I'll be in Austin from Dallas the weekend of the 24th (12 days from today). I need to check my finances and talk with my wife, but this might be doable.

    New Mesa amp rumor!!

Maybe it's just me and the people I know, but I think there are MUCH better clean channels than the Mark IV's, and most people I know agree. It's not bad, necessarily, but it certainly could be better. Maybe something with a more Marshall flavor.

    Quad + Switchtrack Simul Class 395 !!

Congrats. The Quad is a great preamp. I love mine. My Quad and power amp were about the same price as my Mark IV. All were bought used. And combined, they are about as heavy as my Mark IV head, if not more. I'm surprised you couldn't get a good sounds from the Mark IV. There are plenty...

help me with my rack of doom!

Right now I'm just using one at a time, but I'm looking into my options. All the options out there are really expensive, and all seem to come with their own caveats. The Voodoo Labs GCX seems to be the best when it comes to cost for a rackmount unit, but it comes with some limitations.

    New Mesa amp rumor!!

Rack preamps aren't exactly popular right now and haven't been for almost 20 years, and I say that as someone who owns 3 of them. Beyond the Triaxis, can you name one popular non-boutique tube preamp on the market right now? The only other current production units I can think of are the Engl...

help me with my rack of doom!

No problem. I'm always glad to help. Yeah. They look like flat square pieces of plastic that get thicker towards the center and have areas to run the cable ties through. Here, I found a place called cabletiesplus.com that sells them online (no affiliation, never purchased from them, don't...

Anyone know of a good overdrive pedal for a Studio Preamp?

The studio has a good high gain sound, but it doesn't sound like any Rectifier. I personally think that's a good thing. 8)

help me with my rack of doom!

Yeah, if you don't want to cut your cables, you can pick up IEC cables elsewhere. I buy my IEC cables from Monoprice.com. They sell lengths from 1-15ft unsheilded, and 6ft shielded. They are listed under Power Cable. http://www.monoprice.com/products/subdepartment.asp?c_id=102&cp_id=10228
