I have a question: Can I run my amp's 4 ohm output into my Weber attenuator set at 8 ohms? It's switchable between 8 and 16 ohms, but not 4. If I can't do that, can I use the amp's 8 ohm output while running the el84/6v6 combo? Thanks.

A bright, crackly shell on dirt might work for me, but I don't want it on my cleans. I might give those a try some time, but I'm pretty content with my sound right now. All of my guitars are sounding great through it, and it's super versatile. This is by far the happiest I've ever been with an amp.

They're JJ 6v6S with a 21 hardness rating running on EL-34 bias. I like the clean sound, but the dirt not so much. Maybe I'll try some EH's for brightness, but maybe not. I don't want to sacrifice my clean sounds, and 15 watts should be enough for the dirt.

We'll see if the Lonestar competes with the London at the el84 thing. My London blew a power tube, so I finished practice with the Lonestar (loaded with KT77s, which I'm not crazy about), and I couldn't really say that the London was better. Different, but not really better. The London I'm sure...
