removing tubes from channel B of stereo power amp

I can't speak for the VHT, but Mesa tells you to turn the volume to zero on the side that is not connected to anything, lest bad things happen.

    Avatar 4x12 vs Mesa 4x12

Got the Avatar cab with two Hellatone 30s (G12H) and two Hellatone 60s (Vintage 30s) in stereo, and I have to say I'm very happy. Tone for days. Also, I highly recommend the Hellatones as well.

    Avatar 4x12 vs Mesa 4x12

Thanks for all of the feedback. I decided to go with the Avatar and a mix of Hellatone 30s and 60s in a stereo cab. We'll see how the triaxis and 50/50 sound through there in a couple of days. I'll let you know how it turns out.

Triaxis, 20/20 into a What cab? advise.. Please

I have successfully used and recorded 4x12s in a number of contexts and gotten good results (at least to my ears). I've even recorded a stereo 4x12 in stereo, so it can be done. I didn't find it any harder or easier to record than a combo or smaller cab. The only potential challenge is volume...

    What power amp

would a 50/50 power amp be..

To answer your original question, I think a 2:Fifty (or any 50 watt amp for that matter) is beyond overkill for a bedroom amp. I use my 50/50 to gig with and I wouldn't need to get it above 5 or 6 unless I want to push it into output distortion. Even with the low power mode kicked on (at 15...

    Avatar 4x12 vs Mesa 4x12

I'm in the process of upgrading my gigging rig and I'm trying to decide which cab to go with. Anyone have any experience with the Avatar cabs? I've been looking at their cabs vs a traditional Recto Cab. I've always like the sound of the traditional Recto, but I'm having a hard time spending...

    WTB: 4x12 Traditional Recto/Stiletto Cab

I'm looking to pick up a Traditional Recto/Stiletto 4x12 cab. I live near Milwaukee, WI, but would be willing to drive a ways to pick it up (Chicago would not be too far).
