    Triaxis version and innards...

Opened her up and she has the Recto board so I guess a previous owner had the software and recto mod done. Thanx for the info.

    Triaxis version and innards...

I just got a used Triaxis/2:90 combo and I love it. I had some questions though. When the Triaxis is turned on, 2.0 appears in all of the display windows, so I am assuming it is version 2. The serial number, though, looks like it is T07xx, which according to the FAQ, was a version 1 model...

    Mark V combo differences

I have a Mark V that has a sn between 125 and 140. When I look at the back, there is a bar (like on rectos) to protect the tubes. On some new MV's, there is a tube cage. Was the cage a more recent addition? The amp was made in the last quarter or 2009.

    FS/FT: Mesa Mark V Combo

The amp has been traded - thanx for all the interest and offers.

    FS/FT: Mesa Mark V Combo

Thanx for the offer, but I'm gonna pass.

    FS/FT: Mesa Mark V Combo

Thanx for the offer max but I already have a 3 channel DR. Thanx for the interest though Pete

    FS/FT: Mesa Mark V Combo

I have a nice and minty Mesa Mark V combo. I got it a month ago and retubed the power tubes. The amp comes with the footswitch, FS cable, amp and FS covers, casters and all docs that I got from the previous owner. No original manual, but I have a printed copy. The amp sounds great, but it's...

Mark V footswitch on a 3 channel rectifier

Ok - so it works. You can use the Mark V FS with either the Mark V cable (8 pin) or the regular recto (7 pin) cable. The bottom row stays the same so channel 1, 2, 3 and solo work as expected. To get the FX loop, you have to use the REV switch. Also, LED on means the loop is off and LED off...

Mark V footswitch on a 3 channel rectifier

Last week I did a gig with my Dual Recto but accidentally packed my Mark V footswitch. Is there any harm in swapping them that way? I know on the RJM mini amp gizmo, you can use the Mark V cable with the 3 channel rectos. I just wanted to confirm that this is the case with the actual...

    Footswitch problem on FX loop

Bumping this up for more help. I figured out that the switching issue is on the footswitch. I connected a RJM mini amp gizmo to the DR and the FX loop turns on and off as it should when I hit the button on the MAG. So does anyone have any schematics of the big foot controller? I opened it up...

    Mark V FX Loop Question

    Anybody?

    Mark V FX Loop Question

According to the manual, the FX loop on the Mark V is serial, but when I hit the FX button on the footswitch with no FX connected, I still hear some signal (maybe 5%). It's low, but it's there. Is this normal? Will you have the same comb filter effect using multi-FX with the loop as you have...

    New Mark V owner

I just traded my Vetta head, floorboard, Mesa halfback and some cash for a Mesa Mark V combo, footswitch and RJM mini amp gizmo. The amp is really cool, in a different way from my Dual Recto and my JVM. I never knew that something so small could be so heavy. It's off to build a headshell for...

    Another Roadster/Roadking question

If I match settings on a Roadking identical to a Roadster, channel by channel, knob by knob, should they both sound the same? I want to get a roadking, and I had a Roadster, but didn't like the second channel brit (not enough gain), am I wasting my money with the roadking?

    Mark V headshell

Would pine be a good wood to use to build a headshell for a Mark V? I have a lead on a combo and and would like to convert it to a head. If pine is a no go, then what is a better wood, that isn't either overly heavy or expensive. I figure I could always use non void ply, but I would have to...

    Recto Output Power

I thought in the Mesa manual, it said that speaker impedance wasn't too important as the transformers are really tough. So with pulling a couple of tubes, EL or 6L6's, you don't need to really connect the 8 ohm jack to 16 ohm speakers and such. Also, on amps like Roadster and the new...

    Recto Output Power

If you pull out 2 tubes, does all of the above cut in half again? I would think that it would still be safe to use the spongy/bold and diode/tube options as long as you pull the middle 2 tubes and a rectifier tube, right? That way you can get down to 35 watts...

    Rectifier Effects Users

For people who use FX on a Dual/Triple Recto, do you normally keep your pedals in the loop or do you ever plug them directly into the front. Also, do you have some FX that stay on all the time, rather then switched in and out?

Converting a Road King from a combo to a head

I'm looking to convert a RK2 from a combo to a head. Other than the fact that the controls will be on the too, rather than the bottom, are there any other issues I need to look at? Has anyone else done this? The combo and head are identical in every other way, right?

    Footswitch problem on FX loop

I tried replacing the cable already - there was no change. I took the footswitch apart and checked all solder joints. Everything looks fine. It may be the footswitch. Since I just bought the head, maybe I'll bring it back to the store for them to check - it's used, not new though. And to be...
