Studio .22 love story - speakers and mods I've tried

Here to bump an old thread but I just want to get extra clarity based off of what I've read here. It is indeed perfectly safe to run the Studio 22 on one EL84? I shouldn't see any unexpected damage or mishaps along the road after attempting this? Any feedback is appreciated! Thank! Nick

    Quick DC-5 Chasis question

Okay thanks alot. Is the Mark IV Medium head the same? Cause I saw some posts on google, where it sounded like people used that particular head shell.

    Quick DC-5 Chasis question

Okay after doing some further searching on the board, I found that the DC-5 Widebody combo is too wide for the rack mount. Although, I did learn that a DC-3 headshell would fit adequately. Thanks, Nick

    Quick DC-5 Chasis question

I have found this rack mount kit. http://mesa.stores.yahoo.net/kit-rksl.html It seems like they should fit my chassis. I will still need to measure and make sure that it is 17" across. Now if this is to work, will the reverb tank be able to fit in there properly? Thanks! Nick

    Quick DC-5 Chasis question

Hi everyone, I hope all is well! I have a 1999 DC-5B combo; I am just wondering if I can take the chassis out of my combo and place into a comparable DC-5 head casing. On that not, are there any rack mount kits that would work with it? Thanks a lot! Nick Landt

connect dc5 combo with extra cabinet?

Awesome! Glad to hear. So how does it sound using a 1x15 bass cabinet?

connect dc5 combo with extra cabinet?

Yes, that is the correct way to hook everything up. I do the same thing with a 2x12 cabinet, and that in conjunction with the 1x12 combo speaker made the sound get much fuller and I didn't have to turn the output level as high as I did with just the 1x12.

connect dc5 combo with extra cabinet?

yes you are correct. the two 4 ohm sockets are in parallel. i do the same thing with my DC-5, but i wire a 8 ohm 2x12 cabinet, along with the 8 ohm 1x12 combo speaker.

    Monsta-Tone Mod Kits!! Awesome!!

Hey everyone, I just recently bought a mod kit from Monsta-Tone for my DC-5B. I purchased the more/less gain mod; because that is the easiest mod to do, and I just wanted to see how hard a amplifier is to modify compared to effects pedals. The mod was ridiculously easy to complete, and I...

    Speakers for DC-5

Ah okay. Well that's good to know. I wonder if those Carvin speakers i posted are the same ones that you had. Hmm. It would be nice to see if there is anyone on here, who has tried those speakers. I guess I got some saving up to do regardless. Lol.

    Speakers for DC-5

Okay thanks a lot for all the info. I may looking into what Avatar is selling. Or I may just try to find a pair of MC 90's on ebay as well. I have seen them up there a few times. Also the crate amp was a crappy $300 solid state combo that was 120 watts. Its was called the Crate XT120R.

    Speakers for DC-5

Okay. So I have a DC-5B Combo with the black shadow speaker, and I love how that sounds. But I also have a old crate 2x12 combo, that I took the head out of and am currently using as a cabinet, running in parallel along with the black shadow. As you can imagine the speakers in the crate...

The slave out on my DC-5

Okay so I am just a little confused on exactly what I can do with the slave out on my DC-5. From what I understand, I can have a cable running from the slave out of my DC-5 into another power amps input. Doing this would help add more power to my amp. Is that correct? Is that a good way to...

    FS/FT: Boss CE-20 Chorus Ensemble

Hello, I have a Boss Ce-20, it is a excellent sounding chorus pedal with a ton of features. The reason I don't want it anymore is because it has great features but I only end up using one of them. I am looking more for trades rather than selling it. If you are interested in trading for it...
